How to Submit – Scholarly Manuscripts

We are currently accepting submissions.

Using the form below, please upload 1) a cover letter, 2) a prospectus including all 7 points discussed below, 3) sample chapters or the completed manuscript, and 4) a curriculum vita (CV) for all authors/editors (This should be a curriculum vita, not a brief author biography). Please review the information below carefully before finalizing and submitting your documents. Please note that over half of the submissions we receive are not accepted without review due to not following these guidelines.

  1. Prior to submitting the manuscript, please review UPP’s manuscript preparation guidelines and assure that your manuscript has been prepared in accordance with these guidelines.
  2. A cover letter introducing your book and why you are submitting it to University Professors Press.
  3. A prospectus including:
    1. A brief overview of the book, the format of the book, and the book’s purpose.
    2. A minimum of 2 completed chapters or the full manuscript. Note: Manuscripts must be in good APA style (7th edition) to be considered. In particular, be sure your citations, references, and headings are complete and accurate. If it is noticed that the APA style is not adequate, the proposal may not be reviewed.
    3. A completed table of contents with chapter descriptions.
    4. A list of anticipated images with a description or include the images. Note: We typically will only consider including color images if they are necessary for the book. Color images increase the price of the book and are taken into consideration pertaining to whether the book is accepted.
    5. A description of the intended audience.
    6. A discussion of similar books in the field that may be competitors, including what makes this book unique.
    7. Marketing recommendations to reach the intended audience (recommended, but not required, for inclusion).
  4. As University Professors Press specializes in humanistic, existential, and transpersonal psychology books, the relevant current literature should be considered, including relevant articles in the Journal of Humanistic Psychology, The Humanistic Psychologist, Self & Society, Existential Analysis, and the Journal of Transpersonal Psychology.
  5. Full vita of the Author(s)/Editor(s) of the book with complete contact information.
